The “Earthquake Scene”, Day of the Dead 1986

For the Day of the Dead in 1986, Felipe Linares was commissioned to commemorate the 1985 earthquake with a large-scale scene of skeletons trapped in rubble, rescuers and looters. It was a controversial work that, according to the sources, also helped raise funds in Europe for the victims.
