Attribution confirmed Felipe Linares Mendoza
The museum record lists “Felipe Linares Mendoza (56 años)” as the maker.
A fantastic animal with a feline face and wings, built on a wire frame covered in paper and paste, according to the museum record. It is the work by Felipe Linares Mendoza with the most complete institutional record: maker, age, year, materials and inventory number.
Context
It belongs to the museum’s “Fiesta de la muerte” collection. The record adds that the Linares family received the National Prize for Arts and Sciences, with a year (1992) that differs from the prize’s own register (1990); the site’s archive notes the discrepancy.
